Effective Ways to Make Money From Blogging

The reason for this is that so many online businesses have failed and people think making money online cannot be a stable endeavor. However, it can be observed that people often fail in online businesses because they do not treat it as a full time job or an entrepreneurial endeavor. The truth is, anyone can make money online as long as they take it seriously and put in enough time and effort. They key really is dedication.

Blogging is one of the most popular and effective ways to make money online. It will require much more than simply creating a blog and writing posts for it. There are some very specific guidelines that you must follow in order to make sure that your blog is suited for the purpose of making money. This article discusses the most popular and effective ways to achieve your profit goals with your blog.

The first thing to make sure of if you want to make money blogging is to choose the right niche and make your content as targeted to that niche as possible. This would make it easier for you to drive traffic to your blog. Once you do this, you can be more confident that your blog is worth a great deal of money.

After that, the easiest and most common-sensical thing to do in order to start making money with your blog is to try out Google's AdSense program. This allows you to place Google Ads on your blog and make some money every time someone clicks on them.

The next effective thing you can try is affiliate marketing. This is a method that has been around for a long time. It is a billion-dollar industry and there are a great many people who make good money out of it. The way it works in blogging is that your blog will be direct traffic to a site that is selling a product and, when those visitors buy the product, you earn a commission. To make this effective for you, you must find the right affiliate programs for your blog and, soon, you will be earning a good profit. Some of the most popular affiliate marketing programs are those offered by Commission Junctio, Amazon, and Clickbank.

Using your blog as a casual online auction site may also work. It can be a tough business. However, if you develop the skills to buy products at a low price and then sell them for high margins, you can achieve the profit scale you desire. there are people who make thousands of dollars every month by doing this. If you're interested, learn the skills necessary to make a sale with your blog. It may not be as simple as making a post to announce your new items. It will not be easy but you surely have much to gain if you do it right and if you are dedicated.

Private advertisement sales is a relatively new way to make money out of your blog and it is also one of the most effective. The profit that you can gain from this activity can be astounding, depending on the performance of your blog. This is done by advertising fees to those who want to advertise on your blog. This way, you make money without having to join any program or engage with middlemen.

The success of any money-making activity with you blog will depend heavily on one thing: your blog's performance. This includes average pageviews, unique visitors, interaction, etc. As you drive more and more traffic to your site, you gain a higher page rank and your blog becomes more and more valuable.

How Much Can You Earn From a Blog

================
I will outline for you a way of estimating what your earnings will be for your blog and the amount of work that will be necessary.

1. One dollar per post per month is an OK amount :

If you can manage to add a blog post at least once a day, you should be able to earn around $30 a month after about one month's time if you include income generating links in the posts. Each month your monthly income could continue to increase. For instance, after 6 months, you may be earning $180 per month just from your blog.

In other words, if you were to add 10 posts a day, after 6 months, there would be a chance that you will be earning $1800 per month from your blog alone.

If you strictly add informational material without recommending products or services, you can still earn on ads on your blog. Personally, I feel that if you can work in a link to a product or service that your readers may be interested in using, do it and do it often.

You also should try to add at least 5 good backlinks to each post that you are making. For instance, start a free blog within the same niche and write similar articles in it that will link to each of your posts. Make these links just one-way in order to keep them powerful with respect to the search engines.

2. Promote affiliate products within your blog :

It is very simple to sign on as an affiliate for almost any product that is available online. Incorporating affiliate links in your daily blog posts is a very smart move to make.

How to Automate Blog Posts

You can always go to article directories or Youtube to get new and fresh content for your site. However, I found a little gem I just have to share. If you have noticed at times I have posts from different authors. I do not go scouring the article directories for these. They are delivered to my site with a handy plugin I just love.

The plugin is part of Unique Article Wizard, which is an article submission service. If you go to the Unique Article Wizard site and scroll down to the bottom of the site you will see a link that says: "Directories/Webmasters - Receive FREE unique content direct to your site! Click for details."

Click on it and it takes you to page where it gives you a selection of different ways to receive articles delivered directly to your site. I use the WordPress plugin and it works well for me.

You have the option of having them autopublished, saved as drafts and delivered to your email. I chose to save them as drafts and deliver them to my email. By doing this I can read the articles to see if they are useful to me and therefore may be useful to my readers. You also have the option of how many you would like published to your site a day.

Ways to Make Money With a Blog

=======================
Below are two ways to make money with a blog.

Earn Referral Commission

If you own a blog that is strictly for information purposes and does not sell products directly, you can earn revenue by referring visitors to merchant websites.

If, for instance, you operate a blog about gardening but don't sell gardening products you could form a partnership with a merchant who does sell physical products. When a customer visits the merchant through your referral link, you would earn a commission based on the amount of the purchase.

The key to referral commission is maintaining relevance between your blog, the customer's need, and the merchant's products. It can prove beneficial to "deep link" to a merchant site, meaning you link directly to a specific product instead of sending a customer to a general home page.

Offer Exclusive Content

A growing trend among blog owners is to offer exclusive content to users through a paid membership. Visitors are given the opportunity to access a restricted area of the blog after paying a monthly or yearly fee.

While it's not difficult to build an initial membership list, it can be challenging to maintain returning members. To retain paying visitors, you'll need to provide high quality content that is truly unique. If the material is similar to the free content you provide there will be little incentive to continue paying a membership fee.

A common strategy for membership blogs is to use the paid visitors as a gateway to new revenue. The actual membership fee is viewed as secondary to building a relationship that will yield future purchases and more substantial revenue.

Make Money From Blogging

Making money with blogs is completely dependent on your audience and you're ability to attract people to click on the advertisements. Blogs are simple to set up, and relatively easy to update. As many as 75,000 blogs are created every day - almost one per second!

If you are looking to start making money on the internet and you have a budget that is very small or zero, blogging is a great way to get started. You can set-up a free blog and join advertisement programs for free. The only cost involved in setting up a blog is your time.

Although there are many factors involved in making money with your blog, there are a few vital keys to remember when setting up, maintaining and promoting your blog in order to achieve success.

1. Your blog needs to have the right layout in order for your AdSense ads to be "clickable" by visitors. Choosing an advertisement's location, size and color is very important and is something you will need to constantly test and tweak to determine which formats produce the most clicks. It's amazing how one small change can produce monumental results. There are also many other ways to make money with your blog than with AdSense alone. You could promote affiliate products and implement contextual advertising such as Kontera.

2. Your blog will need lots and lots of traffic. This is really a no-brainer, yet it's the greatest challenge of any website owner. The encouraging reality is that there are more ways to generate traffic for your blog than ever before. This is due to the emergence of Web 2.0 sites like YouTube and social bookmarking sites. Many of these sites provide great sources for one-way links to your blog. Getting hundreds, even thousands of quality links is a must if you expect significant traffic to your blog. There are also many SEO tools on the market now such as directory and article submitters that will help you get thousands of backlinks to your blog quickly and save lots of valuable time.

3. Your blog will need to be updated frequently. You cannot expect return visitors if your blog is not a source of fresh information. You can use RSS feeds to provide your blog with relative information, however you will need to add personal posts as well at least once or twice per week. This will increase your blog's search engine rankings and also help brand you as an expert in your niche.

Blogging is a great way to share your thoughts and ideas online, but it's also a powerful money-making tool. Making money with blogs is fairly simple if you know what to do and if you're willing to invest the time and effort necessary to make it profitable.

What It Takes To Make Money Blogging

The concept of publishing content via really simple syndication - a standard publishing format subscription-based content which serves as the basis for blogging has been around for many years, but only recently has the news that blogging can help your search engine indexing and ranking.

In fact, before you launch your own online business, it is smart to first build a presence and reputation with the search engines leading to traffic generation and momentum before you launch your business. In some cases, your main goal will be to directly make money blogging, while in other cases the goal will be to drive income from other sources by using your blog as a main entry point for traffic.

Let's look at how your blog can help you make money online.

1. Getting your sites recognized and indexed frequently by the search engines is one way to make money blogging. Now, getting indexed doesn't mean you will rank highly, so even though blogging is important, what you really want is for some of your blog postings and/or articles to be picked up by quality sites with existing SE reputation so you can begin to move yourself up the ranking.

2. By posting quality content with personality, you will not only gain new eyeballs, but your readers will come back frequently to be informed and entertained. You want repeat visitors and links to you from other blogs and content sites to help you achieve critical mass for your blog.

3. Once you achieve a few hundred daily visitors, you can begin to "monetize" your blog by adding in links to related affiliate products, links back to your own products or services, ads served through either Pay-per-click such as Google Adsense or other ad serving agencies such as Text Link Ads.

4. As your blog grows, the ways to make money blogging can expand quickly as potential partners will seek you out knowing that you have a loyal reader base that can help them move product AND you can begin to entertain the idea of brokering your own ads instead of using ad agencies, where you only get a portion of the ad revenue.

To Make Money Blogging, You Must Generate Content

Many of the top online bloggers post daily (if not multiple posts each day) to maintain traffic and interest in their blogs.

In the beginning at least, you will have to follow this pattern.

To make money blogging your blog must also be targeted toward a specific niche market, which brings up the idea of how directed your content must be toward specific keywords.

Do you organize your posts around keyword phrases, or do you just write away and let the search engines have their day?

What we have found most effective is to create a useful, interesting blog posting and then look at how I can squeeze a keyword focus into that posting. Those who make money blogging all have informative information with personality.

That way, you are not writing to satisfy a keyword phrase, but rather fitting it in later. Most times that is possible without changing the character of the post, other times it's not and that's ok.

Here are some things you can blog about...

  • Your own experiences, case studies and stories about your topic
  • Comment on news stories, you'll find them by searching news aggregators such as Yahoo News or Google News
  • Offer up a simple tip or technique about your topic that will help your reader
  • Post a question to solicit comments and get a discussion going
  • Offer your opinion on how your topic could relate to a major news or current event item

To make money blogging you need to have lots of ideas. That's where bloggers often struggle, where do they find ideas to blog about each and every day?

If you are running out of ideas, then search other sites, look at magazines related to your topic, talk to someone about your topic and paraphrase your conversation, think about something controversial, search the web for health related implications of your topic -- any of these techniques can tweak ideas and give you your next topic for posting.

Make Money Blogging

Blogging used to be for the hobbyist. Yet now, there are hundreds of headlines out there telling you that you can make thousands of dollars blogging. The truth is that you can make money blogging, but probably closer to a few hundred dollars a month. However, there are some ways to maximize your earning potential for your blog.

If you want to make money blogging, the first thing you need to do it have a blog. There are a number of blogging sites that allow you to build a nice looking blog about whatever subject suits your fancy. Yet, it is this subject that can help determine how much money you can make with your blog. If you want to make money blogging, you should try to look at which topics will pay more per click than others. You can usually do this through Google AdSense and Google AdWords, which allow you to see how much each click costs. Google AdSense allows you to place ads on your blog, and you earn money every time someone clicks on an ad.

Besides Google AdSense, you can also use BlogAds.com, which will allow you to have more control over the ads on your blog. Plus, BlogAd allows you to make money blogging regardless of the number of clicks. With BlogAds, companies pay for space over a period of time. You just sign up (it’s free!) and then determine what your advertising prices will be. Then the companies contact you for space. This differs from Google, where any related ads are placed on your blog.

You can also make money blogging by becoming an affiliate to another company. Amazon has a popular affiliate program that gives you a commission for every time they click on the ad and purchase something. You can check out affiliate programs through LinkShare.com or CJ.com to make money blogging by becoming and affiliate.

Do you want to make money blogging for a specific cause? If you love your blog, but have an altruistic side, you can also ask people to give to a specific cause – even if it is you. PayPal has a donation button that you can put on your site. Also, Amazon has an honor system that can provide you with a donation button.

Finally, you can sell yourself to make money blogging. People love unique merchandise like t-shirts, tote bags, mousepads, and more. If your blog has a catchy name, you can sell items with your logo on it to make money. The company, CafePress.com allows you to design your own items that you can sell from your blog. By selling these items you make money blogging by netting the markup. Plus, when people wear your items, it is like free advertising, drawing more people to your site.

the dynamics of how blogs become popular

Researchers have analyzed the dynamics of how blogs become popular.

There are essentially two measures of this: popularity through citations, as well as popularity through affiliation (i.e. blogroll).

The basic conclusion from studies of the structure of blogs is that while it takes time for a blog to become popular through blogrolls, permalinks can boost popularity more quickly, and are perhaps more indicative of popularity and authority than blogrolls, since they denote that people are actually reading the blog's content and deem it valuable or noteworthy in specific cases.

The blogdex project was launched by researchers in the MIT Media Lab to crawl the Web and gather data from thousands of blogs in order to investigate their social properties. It gathered this information for over 4 years, and autonomously tracked the most contagious information spreading in the blog community, ranking it by recency and popularity.

It can therefore be considered the first instantiation of a memetracker.

The project is no longer active, but a similar function is now served by tailrank.com.

Blogs are given rankings by Technorati based on the number of incoming links and Alexa Internet based on the Web hits of Alexa Toolbar users.

In August 2006, Technorati found that the most linked-to blog on the internet was that of Chinese actress Xu Jinglei.

Chinese media Xinhua reported that this blog received more than 50 million page views, claiming it to be the most popular blog in the world.[18] Technorati rated Boing Boing to be the most-read group-written blog

There are many different types of blogs

There are many different types of blogs, differing not only in the type of content, but also in the way that content is delivered or written.

Personal blogsThe personal blog, an ongoing diary or commentary by an individual, is the traditional, most common blog.

Personal bloggers usually take pride in their blog posts, even if their blog is never read by anyone but them.

Blogs often become more than a way to just communicate; they become a way to reflect on life or works of art. Blogging can have a sentimental quality.

Few personal blogs rise to fame and the mainstream, but some personal blogs quickly garner an extensive following.

A type of personal blog is referred to as "microblogging," which is extremely detailed blogging as it seeks to capture a moment in time.

Sites, such as Twitter, allow bloggers to share thoughts and feelings instantaneously with friends and family and is much faster than e-mailing or writing.

Corporate and organizational blogsA blog can be private, as in most cases, or it can be for business purposes.

Blogs, either used internally to enhance the communication and culture in a corporation or externally for marketing, branding or public relations purposes are called corporate blogs.

Similar blogs for clubs and societies are called club blogs, group blogs, or by similar names; typical use is to inform members and other interested parties of club and member activities.

By genreSome blogs focus on a particular subject, such as political blogs, travel blogs (also known as travelogs), house blogs, fashion blogs, project blogs, education blogs, niche blogs, classical music blogs, quizzing blogs and legal blogs (often referred to as a blawgs) or dreamlogs.

Two common types of genre blogs are art blogs and music blogs. A blog featuring discussions especially about home and family is not uncommonly called a mom blog.

While not a legitimate type of blog, one used for the sole purpose of spamming is known as a Splog. By media typeA blog comprising videos is called a vlog, one comprising links is called a linklog, a site containing a portfolio of sketches is called a sketchblog or one comprising photos is called a photoblog.

Blogs with shorter posts and mixed media types are called tumblelogs.

Blogs that are written on typewriters and then scanned are called typecast or typecast blogs; see typecasting (blogging).

A rare type of blog hosted on the Gopher Protocol is known as a Phlog. By deviceBlogs can also be defined by which type of device is used to compose it.

A blog written by a mobile device like a mobile phone or PDA could be called a moblog.

One early blog was Wearable Wireless Webcam, an online shared diary of a person's personal life combining text, video, and pictures transmitted live from a wearable computer and EyeTap device to a web site.

This practice of semi-automated blogging with live video together with text was referred to as sousveillance. Such journals have been used as evidence in legal matters.[citation needed]

Blog From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A blog (a contraction of the term "weblog")

is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.

Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries.

A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic.

The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.

Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketches (sketchblog), videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), and audio (podcasting).

Micro-blogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts.

How To make Header of blog Background Transparent

When I did my blog redesign and imported a new template, I wanted to give it my own personal touch. I loved my new template design but loathed the big yellow header box.

**It is alway best to dowload a copy of your full template to your computer before making changes to the HTML**

Also, you can select "Preview" to view edits as you make them before "Saving".

Navigate to the following area when editing your blog --> Layout Tab ---> Edit HTML Sub Tab

How to add a new image to your blog body background:
1. Decide on an image you would like to use
2. Add the following code before your: body {
** For what ever reason I am unaware - I had to import this code as an image for you to see as it was not showing up when I typed it in here...

3. Add the following code or change the code to your selected image here: (You will be changing the whole url string in background: to source your own image you are going to use.)

body {
background:#fff url("http://bp0.blogger.com/YOUR IMAGE GOES IN THIS SECTION.jpg") no-repeat $endSide bottom;
background-attachment:fixed;
margin:0;
padding:0;
color:$textcolor;
font:x-small Georgia Serif;
font-size/* */:/**/small; font-size: /**/small;
text-align: center;
}

Now that you have done that it is time to make the back ground header transparent so that you can see your blog body image through it.

4. Find the /* Header section in the HTML of your blog

5. Find the header-wrapper section and add the following code for "Opacity". The opacity, filter and -moz-opacity lines must match. So, if you change the opacity to .950 - then you have to change the filter to opacity=95 and the -moz-opacity to .950. I found that .850 gives the blog a great transparency without loosing the ability to read the text.

#header-wrapper {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
opacity:.850;
filter: alpha(opacity=85);
-moz-opacity: 0.850;
width:925px;
margin:15auto 10px;
}

6. Now you need to add the opacity to your outer-wrapper as well. Let's find the section under the outer-wrapper called main-wrapper and make the following additions to the code.

#main-wrapper {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
opacity:.850;
filter: alpha(opacity=85);
-moz-opacity: 0.850;
width: 450px;
float: left;
padding: 0;
margin-right: 10px;
word-wrap: break-word; /* fix for long text breaking sidebar float in IE */
overflow: hidden; /* fix for long non-text content breaking IE sidebar float */
}

7. You must also change your side bar wrappers adding the opacity code as follows. Find the section sidebar-wrapper and add the code.

#sidebar-wrapper {
opacity:.850;
filter: alpha(opacity=85);
-moz-opacity: 0.850;
width: 220px;
float: right;
background: $sidebar2bgcolor;
word-wrap: break-word; /* fix for long text breaking sidebar float in IE */
overflow: hidden; /* fix for long non-text content breaking IE sidebar float */
}

8. Depending on your blog layout - you may have multiple sidebars - in that case you need to edit each one and add the opacity code as follows in this example:

#right-sidebar-wrapper {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
opacity:.850;
filter: alpha(opacity=85);
-moz-opacity: 0.850;
width: 220px;
float: right;
padding: 0px;
background: $sidebar1bgcolor;
margin-right: 15px;
word-wrap: break-word; /* fix for long text breaking sidebar float in IE */
overflow: hidden; /* fix for long non-text content breaking IE sidebar float */
}

Hopefully this has helped anyone that was getting a bit stuck on how to make these changes.

How to Increasing Link Popularity

Search engines are the gateway to the Internet; they are the first tool that potential customers use to find the products and services they need. This is why link popularity is so imperative. If the customers do not find your website, you have no possibilities of making any sales.

You're probably wondering what the blazes is popular about a link! Well, in a word - plenty! Link popularity refers to the ranking assigned to your website by the search engines, and it determines the ranking your page gets when keywords are entered into a search engine. So, you're probably wondering, how do I make my link popular?

Search engines are discretionary, giving status and ranking to sites that have links to their pages from related, quality sites. It's a simple formula, but a very important one. Google created the system, and now virtually all the most popular search engines employ it to rank your web pages in their indexes.

The more commonly used your keyword is, the harder it will be to achieve link popularity, but without achieving this step, it is almost certain your site will never rank highly on any search engine. But don't be discouraged; there are tried and true ways of achieving link popularity using the most competitive keywords.

There are a few things you should be aware of. The first is that just linking up with a large number of other websites will not achieve link popularity. In fact, it may have quite the opposite effect. This is particularly true when pertaining to websites that are nothing more than "link farms" - pages containing line after line of indiscriminate links. Search engines may aggressively discriminate against your website if you are associated with a link farm, so steer clear of them!

The next thing to bear in mind is the quality of the site you are linking to. Never link to a page you have reservations about your visitors seeing. The last thing you want your website to appear as is indiscriminate and cheap. Linking to sites of poor quality will only lessen your link popularity, if not completely destroy it.

So let's get to what you need to do to achieve supreme link popularity and improve your rankings to stellar status on all the popular search engines.

The first step, and the fastest way to get your foot in the door, is to get a listing in a popular directory, such as Open Directory Project and Yahoo. If your site is business-related, you will want to be listed on Yahoo, and despite the fact that it will cost you around $300 a year, it will be money well spent. If your site is non-commercial, the listing will be free, but it will take time and follow-up to actually get it listed. Open Directory gives you a free listing whether you are business-related or non-commercial, but be prepared to make a lot of follow-up inquiries before you see your site listed.

You are aiming to get listed in the highest level of appropriate category, and this just takes some common sense. For example, if your company ships Alpaca wool from an Alpaca farm located in the middle of Nowhere, Tiny State, do NOT submit your listing to "Retailers from Nowhere, Tiny State." BIG MISTAKE! All you have to do is look a little deeper - and submit your listing to the "Fine Alpaca Wool" category. You will not only associate yourself with culture and quality, but you will be listed in a national category.

The next step after you have attained directory listings is to locate other quality sites that will increase your link popularity. Try to find sites that are in some way related to yours, so not only will your link popularity increase, but your customer base may also be expanded. You want to avoid your competitors and look for sites that are useful to your site's visitors. Let's look at the Alpaca Wool site example. Linking up to a site that sells knitting supplies would be helpful to your visitors, and the chances of the knitting supply site wanting to link up to your site are also greater. By linking to a related site that will be relevant to your website's traffic, you are increasing both of your sites' business prospects - and both of your sites' link popularity.

Not all sites want to link to other sites, so you will have to do some research when you are looking for possible linking partners. Google is an excellent starting place for your search. Make sure you enter keywords that you think quality customers will also enter to find your own site. Remember, your criteria are quality, highly ranked, non-competing websites that have a links or resources page. Go to these sites and objectively assess them. Look at the quality of the product, the graphics, and the ease of use. Then check out the other sites they are linked to, and determine if your own site would fit in with the crowd.

When you decide you have found a good prospect, you must set out to woo them. The first thing to do is to add a link on your own links page to their site. This is an essential first step; it shows good faith, and ups your chances significantly of their reciprocity. After you have added their link, you must contact the webmaster of their site. Since this is almost always done by email, you want to make sure it is immediately clear that your message is not junk mail. This requires that you tell them right off the bat that you have added a link to their page on your site. A hook like this almost always insures the reader will read on.

Next, be sure to be flattering and let them know how much you appreciate their website. Make sure you emphasize that you have actually visited their site, and that their site is not just a random pick. Give them the address of your links page, and ask them to check out the link for themselves. It's a good idea to mention that they will not only benefit from the increased traffic your website will direct their way, but you will also increase their link popularity. Briefly, explain why link popularity is so essential, but do this in a sentence or two so you don't sound like a professor! Finally, tell them you would greatly appreciate if they would reciprocally add a link on their own links page to your website.

Go through this process with as many appropriate sites as you can find, bearing in mind the criteria of quality and non-competitiveness. After you have emailed all relevant sites, be sure to check these website frequently to see if they have added a link to your page. Give it about a month, and if no link appears, try another charming email. Then give it another month, and if your site is still absent from their links page, it's time to remove their link from your own links page. The only time you want to pursue a link further than this is if you believe a site is crucial to your link popularity and your business needs. Just remember to keep all your communications complimentary and cordial.

Then set up a schedule to check your ranking in search engines frequently to see if your link popularity has improved. This is not achievable in the blink of an eye.

It will take some time and a good deal of work. There is no way around the labor-intensive quality of improving your link popularity, which is why search engines regard it with such importance.

Make sure you have a beautiful, streamlined site or you will never persuade anyone to link up to you. Be prepared to keep plugging away at this process, as long as it takes, until you achieve link popularity stardom!
